His research and publications focus on ethical and political issues in ecosocial work, the discourse analysis of social policy, and the politicization of social work. The Ecosocial Work research group specializes in citizen initiatives that combine social and environmental goals. The group studies ways to increase the participation and involvement of vulnerable groups in a manner that meets their needs and perceptions. He is the co-editor of the first student book on Ecosocial Work in the Netherlands, which was recently published in July 2025.
