Indigenous Social Work – in the North

Price for the post-conference is 2260,- NOK. This includes the conference, two lunches, one dinner (bidos + dessert – beverages not included), coffee/tea, a museum visit, transportation, and a welcome drink.
Welcome to our post-conference event in Alta October 9-10, themed “Indigenous Social Work – in the North,” where we focus on indigenous perspectives and challenges within social work in the northern regions. Join us for a day filled with inspiring lectures, cultural performances, and engaging discussions as we explore topics such as indigenous resilience, the work of the Truth Commission, sustainability, and youth political activism.
The conference focuses on environmental changes and how they affect the Sami people in the North, who live closely connected to nature.
Professionals will on the second day share their experiences from working with social and health services for the Sami population.
Remember you need to registrate for the post conference and the main event in Oslo separately.
The fee for the post-conference in Alta is 2260 NOK, and there is limited capacity so be quick.

There is limited availability for hotels and flights, so please book these as soon as possible. The organizer is not responsible if you are unable to secure accommodation or travel to Alta.
The Post Conference will be held as a lunch-to-lunch conference.
The Conference will be held in the facilities to The Arctic University of Norway (https://en.uit.no/startsida).
The conference in Alta is hosted jointly between the Arctic University of Norway, FO and FO’s local division in Finnmark, FO Finnmark.
