Omar Mohamed

Omar Mohamed is a 24-year-old Asian British man, born and raised in London, with family and ancestral roots in East Africa, India, and Persia. He is a lived experience activist and a sibling kinship carer who uses his role as a social worker as a platform to drive change, particularly in promoting social justice, equity, and human rights.

Since 2020, Omar has been actively involved in engaging new and young social workers across IFSW Europe. He serves on various committees and leadership groups, provides training and consultancy, and regularly contributes to the development of future social workers through international work and education. His efforts include embedding knowledge about sustainability in social work.

Omar frequently publishes work on anti-racism and decolonization, with a strong commitment to advancing diasporic, embodied, and Indigenous knowledge.
